WYMESWOLD teenager Tabitha Kyle enjoyed an amazing Pony of the Year Show (POYS) at Arena UK, Lincolnshire, clocking up a phenomenal eight wins from nine classes across the four days, including two championship titles.
The ultra-consistent pony Gangnam Style got the ball rolling for Kyle, winning both qualifiers before heading into the LeMieux JA Final, where she triumphed over her opposition by seizing the top two places.
Kyle was equally as strong in the Under 18 Final. Again, she won both qualifying classes and headed into the final double-handed, jumping clear rounds over a course standing at 1.35m to take two horses through to the jump-off. She was joined by five others from a starting list of 22 to race against the clock over a raised and shortened course.
A rail down with first ride Indiana D’Aryifagne put her out of contention and into an eventual third but there was no mistake with second ride Desterly.
The 15-year-old mare matched Kyle’s grit and determination stride for stride to come home victorious, winning the title by an impressive nine seconds and claimed the Leading Under 18 Rider Award.
She said: “I’ve had an exceptional week, my horses and ponies have been amazing.”
